Our Custom Design Process

After hours of searching for the perfect accessories, you've decided that going the custom route is the only way you'll have the picture-perfect finishing touch to your dream outfit. If you're wondering what that process looks like, here's how it will work if you choose to go with a custom design from Aurelia Paige.

Step 1: Get in touch.

Outline a very brief description of what you're looking to get made, the occasion it's for and the date you will require it by.

Due to the nature of custom designs, it is best to reach out to us about three months before your event, if not earlier. Shorter timeframes may require an additional 'rush fee' to have them ready for you on time.

Step 2: Book your complementary consultation.

We will contact you to arrange a complementary consultation with our Milliner, Victoria Paige. This can be done in person or via video call (zoom or whatsapp). Prior to the consultation, we will ask you to send over some pictures for inspiration on the design you're looking to get made, and if you have them, photos of the outfit/gown that you are going to be wearing. 

Step 3: Meet the Milliner

During the consultation with Victoria, you will talk through aspects of the design you are envisioning, what you love about the pieces in the photos, what you don't like. We'll also discuss how you're planning on wearing your hair and and how you want to feel on the day. If you have an in person consult, there will be pieces to try on during the consultation. 

Step 4: Design Proposal

Based on what you discussed, Victoria will prepare a few design options and send them over to you in a Design Proposal document. Depending on what you discussed, there will be 2-3 design options, at different price points for you to choose from. Once you have decided on your design, you will sign and return the proposal to us. An invoice will be issued for your custom design, and a 50% non-refundable deposit will be request. When this has been received, the creation process will begin.

Step 5: Creating

During the process of creating your custom design, we will keep in touch with you along the way to show you how it is coming along. Fittings may be required or can be arranged if you prefer to see it in person. We offer one fitting as part of the custom process, additional fittings may require payment.

Minor adjustments are included the cost of your design, any requests that require a lot of reworking will be charged for based on the additional hours needed to complete the request. All additional costs will be discussed with you and require your approval before proceeding. 

Once the piece is finished, photos and videos of your order will be sent across for you to look over, and then final payment of the invoice will need to be made before your order is shipped/collected.

Step 6: ENJOY!

Your beautiful custom Aurelia Paige item will be delivered to you (or collected), in a keepsake box so you can treasure it for years to come.
